Our Association

The Brunswick Park Neighbourhood T and R A was established in December, 2007 - exactly 100 years after the park in Camberwell, SE London, was bought by Southwark Council and opened to the public.

The association is recognised by the Council and various local community groups as being a body that represents the needs and concerns of tenants and residents who live in the area covered by the following roads: Ada Road; Benhill Road; Brunswick Park; Brunswick Villas; Elmington Road (south side); Gables Close; Havil Street (west side); Sansom Street; St Giles Road; and Vicarage Grove.

All tenants and residents of the area are automatically members of the association and are welcome to attend our meetings. Membership is free.

We receive minimal funding and assistance from the Council and welcome their support, but we value our independence as this enables us to campaign freely on the issues that matter to our community.

The aims of the association are

to promote the exercise of tenants and residents rights and the maintenance and improvement of their housing conditions, amenities and environment;

to provide facilities for recreation and amenity and to encourage a community spirit;

for the furtherance of these objects to represent the interests of tenants and residents in consultation with the local authority and other bodies;

and to promote the harmonious functioning of a multi-racial community and to work towards the elimination of all forms of racism and discrimination within it.

The association meets monthly and there are various sub-committees who focus on particular local issues of concern to us all, such as parking, planning, safety and the environment.

We also arrange community events throughout the year.
